a month in a nutshell ♡ 2016.11

No comments:

As you can guess by the lack of updates and the fact that even this résumé is a couple of days too late, November turned out to be crazy busy - all the more reason to share some impressions of how it was like; November in a nutshell.

a month in a nutshell ♡ 2016.10

No comments:

It feels kind of weird that it is already time for another month in a nutshell again.
After life has been kind of slow the last weeks of September it sped up rapidly in October and there is so much that changed or is in change right now, I can't even grasp it completely yet - standing in the middle of it all.
It's actually so much going on right now, that I struggle to write coherent sentences right now - there is still so much whirling around in my head.
I hope that sitting down and writing about October and remembering some of the things I did the past couple of weeks will slow me down a bit. Maybe this will make the spinning stop (it's a great excuse to not do my homework, too - even though I will most probably regret it tomorrow).

a month in a nutshell ♡ 2016.09

Though it may seem like it, I haven't abandoned my blog completely yet.
Admittedly, I have spent the last couple of weeks in some sort of creative low tide and can't say I have recovered from it when it comes to my blog.
However, I want to keep these résumés as an active part on my blog to show that I'm still alive, until I have made up my mind about yukulicious' future.

This weekend is followed by a holiday that has a lot of historical meaning for my country, but I'm busy with a lot of things and won't rest during the long weekend.
September has passed like it lasted only a couple of seconds, though looking through my photos for today's update makes me recall quite a couple of activities I was occupied with the last couple of weeks.

a month in a nutshell ♡ 2016.08

Checking the amount of photos I uploaded to twitter this month contrasts highly with my general impression of not doing anything this past month, but actually this shows that I was up to something this summer after all and have a more or less legit excuse for the lack of updates here.
I'm not sure how much damage this did, since I didn't receive a single comment or any form of reaction from anyone the last two updates but I still promised myself to finally get back into blogging and update more regularily again.
I desperately need some structure in my life again, so I can't wait to overcome my weaker self and start going to the library more often again and start to work on my research and the internship report that's still due, starting next week.

Anyway, let's have a look at what August looked like for me - trying to pick the highlights out of more than 40 pictures between landscapes, food and lots of PokéGo. If you are curious and want to see all of them, feel free to check out my twitter (@ yukuchan) and follow me there!

Catching 'em all ♡ Pokémon Go Adventures

No comments:
Just as promised in my last month in a nutshell a few days ago, I will share some impressions of my adventures with Pokémon Go.

source ♡
I'm far from being an expert in this game and compared to a lot of my friends I'm not as absorbed in it
(my brother is around LV 22 or something while I'm at LV 10)
I guess I never was the person to play a lot of games on their phone - beside GPS eats up my phone's battery like it's nothing and seeing that I live about 2km from the next PokéStop or gym doesn't make it more appealing or easier for me to play.
I literally have to drive into the next city to be able to enjoy the game and catch more than Pidgey, Rattata, Weedle and the occasional Venonat.

I generally feel like the game is best enjoyed with a companion anyway, which brings us to today's topic: I had an amazing time when I met up with my best friend s.a.m two weeks ago to sound the bell for our summer break and catch some Pokémon together.

a month in a nutshell ♡ 2016.07

It's almost August, so it's time to gather all the impressions and small adventures I undertook in July and bring it all together in this posting.
If you follow me on twitter (it's @ yukuchan), you already saw all of that but since I am not limited to 140 characters here, you might get a little deeper insight anyway.

경주 ♡ temple run

No comments:
It's been literally months since I uploaded the first part of my day in Gyeongju and seeing that today, a year prior, I was already in Korea makes it even more obvious that it is about damn time to continue this series.
Today I want to talk about our adventureous trip to Hwangnyongsa and Bunhwangsa, as well as our night trip to Cheomseongdae and other sites around Gyeongju. This post will be really picture heavy, but as always, I will try to include some information about the sites I visited, as well.
And since I can't recall the last time when I visited so many historical sites on one day, I came up with that rather corny headline - I hope you don't mind...

After visiting Cheonmachong in Tumuli Park (you can read up on that here) we took a cab to Hwangnyongsa. Unfortunately I expected what I had seen on photos - like that one - before and couldn't find the pagoda - naturally since it's not there anymore.

I can't believe it's already time for a month in a nutshell again... life has been so busy this month.
I can't wait for my summer vacation, that will start in a couple of weeks - though there will probably be a lot to take care of the next couple of months, too.

Let's start with a small résumé of June.

a month in a nutshell ♡ 2016.04

No comments:

After I skipped Wednesday's update because I had a deadline to deal with, it's time to welcome the new month and talk a bit about all the things I've done in Apirl - though you will have a small piece of April swooped over into May anyway, because I still haven't uploaded the last part of my spring blossom hunt.

With the first of April came the first blossoms and just like last year the purple-leaf plum in my front-yard transformed into my favorite photo motive for the following three weeks.

Happy, happy Birthday girl ♡

No comments:
I'm not sure how many of you actually noticed, but my birthday passed rather silently last week on Wednesday (APRIL 6), which means .... I'm twenty-two years old now!
LV 22 - man, I hope my speed stats increased...

So in today's update I want to share some impressions of what's been going on last week...

I didn't have to go to my internship on that day, so I slept in, ate breakfast and cake with my parents, siblings, boyfriend and granny and simply enjoyed the free time.

French greetings from Japan ♡

No comments:
As I shared on twitter this week, I received a parcel from my two French girls, Alyssa and Carole.
Around Christmas 2014 I sent them small Christmas presents because I felt like it and when they went to Japan in 2015, they promised to send me a parcel as a late birthday present - let's say it took them some time but it was well worth the wait.
I changed my original plan for today's update and decided to share in all the detail, what these two cute girls came up with, so that you know how the flood of cuteness looked like, that cascaded down onto me when I opened the shoe box sized parcel.

First off, just look at all these things they sent me. It's honestly like Christmas and my birthday mixed together. Most of the things are from Japan, but a couple of other things were bought in France, after they returned from their trip. As you can already guess from the first photo, this posting will be kind of picture heavy.

Seoul: 신촌 ♡

No comments:
The first irony that appears to me when I look back at my experiences in 신촌 - Sinchon, is the gap between the time I spent there and the number of photos I took from the area.
I've honestly been to Sinchon so many times during my stay, no matter if it was for meeting my friends from Germany, going for noraebang (which is the Korean equivalent of karaoke) or staying awake till 7am to celebrate a triple birthday (you probably saw the photo of our ice cream cake on my instagram timeline).
Another irony is that it took me almost 1h to actually go to Sinchon but I still found myself there so many times and it's definitely one of my favorite areas that I've seen during my stay.

So today, though adored with only a couple of photos, I want to share some small snippets and facts about the area around Sinchon station with you.

명동 ♡ window shopping expeditions

No comments:
< this post is picture heavy >
Next to the cultural, historical and traditional sites that I visited throughout my vacation, wandering through crowds of people and experiencing the rythym, the pace of the city myself was one of my favorite things to do and though I'm usually moderate with my spendings I really loved to go around and shop with my eyes. How could there be a better place to do that than Myeongdong, one of Seoul's main shopping districts?
Who caught sight of the headline (and is literate in hangul) might have already guessed it; none other is today's posting about!

十月 ♡ a month in a nutshell

No comments:

I feel like it has been an eternity since I last used the chance to just sit down and type away whatever comes to my mind, before I wrap it up as a posting for you.
October has been much more eventful than I thought, especially after university started again and without regards for that other things happened as well.
I'm actually really glad to take my time and résumé the month with you today.

The month started with my boyfriend's and mine one year anniversary and a small shopping tour we made in preparation of my little sister's birthday.
I couldn't keep my hands off the cute Pikachu amiibo, though we don't even own a Wii U but I don't regret it in the slightest.

What a spooky weekend ♡ Halloween special

No comments:
(I'm so sorry - I couldn't upload this yesterday because I was too busy & my Internet wasn't cooperating.)
Despite the general hype that many of the people I follow on SNS share, flooding every dashboard I usual put my eyes on with tsunami-like waves of content and ghastly excitement I am not a Halloween enthusiast and as far as I remember I never was.
Of course I went trick-or-treating when I was still younger but being a person that is generally easily stattled and scared I never enjoyed horror movies or anything of that sort and am in the habit of avoiding the main reason most people look forward to October all year long.

Notwithstanding my obvious indifference to Halloween I would lie if I said I don't find some of the decorations and customs cute and fun.
For example, I really like autumn and pumpkins - pumpkin soup is one of my favorite dishes! - and there are a lot of ways to carve them artistically...
To cut a long story short, I decided to upload at least a little halloween special posting here on my blog, sharing some of the cute impressions and ideas I found scrolling through tumblr and pinterest.

이대 ♡ visiting ewha womans university

No comments:
I started into vacation straight out of the busy hustle of university life only two days after my last exam for the summer semester but this allowed me to enjoy a couple of days with one of my dearest friends who spent 6 months in Seoul to study abroad.
As one of our first meetings said friend, felix, invited the boyfriend and me over to the university he had studied at to show us around the campus.

시작이 반이다 ♡ traveling to South Korea

No comments:
I'm starting this introductory post for the upcoming postings about Korea with a Korean proverb in the title:
시작이 반이다 "shijaki banida" - Starting is half the task.
After finally making up my mind, I think it is about time, that I gather my ideas and thoughts and talk about my trip to South Korea and the time I spent on the other side of the planet.
Traveling is life just as life is traveling vice versa. - Jean Paul

과자 ♡ my favorite Korean snacks

No comments:
Triggered by the recent updates from two fellow bloggers, Jessie and Sann who shared their experiences with different monthly subscription boxes for Japanese snacks and because keeping my boyfriend and my brother off the goodies is getting harder with every day, I decided to fastforward things a bit and post something that is related to my summer trip to Korea, though I still haven't got a schedule how I will do the other updates surrounding  this topic...
My self-dicipline is getting weaker whenever I walk by the coffee table too, so it's probably the best to introduce the snacks I brought from Korea before I've eaten all of them and can't show them anymore later.

七月 ♡ a month in a nutshell

No comments:

Admitedly, it has been almost an eternity since my last update and this one is really late.
I apologize for that but unfortunately the change of month fell right into my vacation time that I spent in a hiatus because I was literally out every day (with one exception), which made the last 5 weeks pretty eventful but also really exhausting. I uploaded the photos from my phone and camera onto my laptop this afternoon and let's leave it at this statement for now: I took roughly 2000 photos in Korea.

An though I am still not quite back into my schedule and have some work for university coming up this month I am really motivated to get into blogging again now and get you the impressions I made as soon as possible.
So without further ado, I'm here for a short resumé of July now.
